This Training Workshop is intended for people who understand the basics of how the Injection Moulder/Extrusion Blow Moulder works, appreciate that plastics have varying behaviours, and need to be able to set or advise on setting the machine to achieve and maintain a consistent quality output at the correct speed and cost.

People who should attend:
Production and Quality Trainees with NQF Level 3 Plastics Qualification, Setters, Production Foremen, Production technicians, team Leaders, etc.

Min entry level: Completed NQF Level 3 / 4 / Equivalent and / or relevant experience

This technology specific skills program is aimed at assisting learners (with basic knowledge and experience such as setters, mould changers, quality personnel, artisans, etc.) achieve competence on part of the National Certificate in Plastics Manufacturing dealing with the following:


•    Principles of Quality and applications
•    Time Management
•    Teamwork & communication
•    Basic & Intermediate Raw materials
•    Raw material preparation and control
•    Waste management
•    Health, Safety & housekeeping application
•    Process Operations and change-overs
•    Start-up & Shut down the equipment

•    Basic maintenance
•    Formative assessments & related assignments

This technology specific skills program is aimed at assisting learners (with intermediate to advanced knowledge and experience such as setters, mould changers, quality personnel, artisans, etc.) achieve competence on part of the National Certificate in Plastics Manufacturing dealing with the following:

•    Plastic Raw material behaviours in the process
•    Optimising production equipment 
•    Understanding the formation and dismantling of quality defects
•    Use of information resources and problem solving
•    Understanding controls,  
•    Setter contributions
•    Formative assessments & related assignments
